Rick Wahl

Owner/President

Rick was raised with strong family values and a hard work ethic. When Rick first came home from university to sit in the chair his father once occupied, he made it his mission to do his father proud and continue a business that invoked respect amongst his colleagues as well as the Medicine Hat community.  “You are only as good as your word” is a phrase Rick believes in whole-heartedly.  Rick opens the office door a couple of hours before anyone else gets there and doesn’t leave till long after everyone has left.  He’s the guy who goes after hours to shovel snow off the roof of an older building so it doesn’t collapse, monitors cement pourings late into the night or checks on job sites over the weekend to make sure they have what they need for Monday morning.   A popular military phrase Rick quoted to his children growing up was “We get more done by 6 AM than most people do all day”

When Rick is not at the office, he is often found at the golf course, waterskiing on the lake, or enjoying time with his family. Rick has been happily married to his wife, Sue for going on 40 years. They are proud parents of a daughter – Laura, and son – Cody. Rick and Sue have deeply embedded in their children the strong values of loyalty, hard work, confidence and always doing your best. Those values are only a few that are shown in every aspect of WAHL Construction. Being born in Medicine Hat and living his whole life here, Rick has very strong community pride, which one can see through the extensive projects throughout the city.
